Kylian Mbappé wins another individual award this season, the onze d’or

Awarded by readers of Onze Mondial, the Onze d’Or, which recognizes the best player of the season in Europe, was officially presented to Kylian Mbappé on Monday, exactly one week before the Ballon d’Or ceremony.

Just days before the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony organized by France Football, Kylian Mbappé has added another individual award to his collection despite winning no team trophies this season. The Real Madrid striker won the Onze d’Or on Monday morning. The award has been presented by readers of Onze Mondial for 50 years and recognizes Europe’s best player of the season. Last year, Ousmane Dembélé received the honor.

According to the publication, Mbappé secured a convincing victory. The Bondy-born player received 48.2% of the votes out of two million ballots. His closest rival, João Neves, collected 11.9%, followed by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with 10.8%, Lamine Yamal with 9.7%, and Ousmane Dembélé with 7.5%.

Harry Kane received 4.4% of the votes, while Michael Olise earned 2.9%. Vitinha followed with 2.8%, Declan Rice with 1.1%, and Bruno Fernandes with 0.7%.

Mbappé Becomes the Ninth French Winner

In a video message, the leading scorer in La Liga, the Champions League, and the previous season’s World Cup thanked voters for their support.

“I wanted to thank everyone who voted for me to win this trophy. It means a lot to me, and the work continues,” he said.

The France captain had never won the Onze d’Or before. He now joins eight other French winners: Michel Platini, Jean-Pierre Papin, Éric Cantona, Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry, Antoine Griezmann, Karim Benzema, and Ousmane Dembélé.
